On rare occasions, in a lifetime, one meets remarkable characters. Jane Jones was one of these. Jane lost her battle with cancer a little while ago and is now at peace.

Jane was fun loving, tenacious, with a razor-sharp wit, academically brilliant and focused. For many years she raised awareness, nationally and internationally, of the dangers of fluorides on the health of the populace.

I pay tribute to Jane and personally felt it a great privilege to have known her and worked with her.

There are other reasons why there is a preponderance of thyroid conditions today, beside the "faux pas" that is made by the medical profession.

The air we breathe is contaminated

The water we drink has added chemicals that are known to be bad for the thyroid e.g. fluoride.

The food we eat has been sprayed with pesticides (containing Organo phosphates), injected with hormones e.g. Oestrogen. World wide we are overoestrogenised. Is that why some don’t know whether they are male or female?


There are many reasons why people become hypothyroid e.g. shock, operation, accidents, virus etc, but these are reasons outside of our control. There are other reasons why people become hypothyroid or hyperthyroid, reasons that are within our

I mentioned in the Conclusion that there are certain chemicals added to our water supply and present in many foods and beverages that interfere with thyroid function one of which is fluoride.

Artificial fluoride is added to water supplies for the prevention of dental caries.

At the time of writing this article no safety testing for the consumption of artificial fluoride has been carried out anywhere in the world.

In the first instance let me explain what artificial fluoride is.

ARTIFICIAL FLUORIDE - is most often fluorosilicic acid, a liquor, captured in pollution scrubbers of the chimney stacks of the phosphate fertiliser industry. In essence it is a protoplasmic poison which is more toxic than lead. Recovered fluorosilicic acid minimizes hydrogen fluoride (hazardous air pollutant )being released into the atmosphere. If release of this toxic waste into the atmosphere via the chimney stacks is a hazardous air pollutant (HAP) then by adding fluoride to our water supplies instead of breathing it in we are ingesting it by way of the oesophagus (digestive tract), when we take a drink or eat food that has been prepared with artificially fluoridated water, and through the dermis (skin) when we shower or bathe in fluoridated water.
